Lexington, OH - John LaRue led every lap to win the Saturday morning F2000 Championship Series race at Mid-Ohio, round three of the 2017 season. LaRue will get a chance to sweep the day in the No. 17 with another race scheduled for mid afternoon. Brandon Dixon finished second while Austin McCusker drove through the field to finish third and will start on pole for race two.
John LaRue, LaRue Motorsports:
"It was a great day, with sunshine, nice weather, Mid-Ohio; what more could we ask for. Two races in one day cuts the same way for everybody, we are a small team so if you have a problem it'll be tough."
Brandon Dixon, Citation Engineering:
"I don't think I had John's pace. I had an essentially a lonely race in second but that is okay."
Austin McCusker, DotWorks Racing:
"It was a last-minute deal to drive this weekend. I started from last and made my way up to third. It was a good race, and I'm starting on pole for the next one so we'll see what we can do."
Rob Allaer (P4 overall; P3 in Masters Class), LTD Motorsports:
"We just lost our front tires, and couldn't keep up the pace. Austin is really fast and ended up catching me in the Key Hole and I couldn't do anything about it. I'm not happy with a fourth place finish, we were hoping for a top three."
